Description
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will establish a committee to conduct a consensus study to assess the Department of the Air Force (DAF)’s proposed strategy and progress towards establishing a unified digital enterprise between the Air and Space Forces and identify and prioritize specific elements that may strengthen or accelerate digital transformation.
Specifically, the committee will:
(1) Review and assess the viability of the Air and Space Forces’ proposed strategies and roadmaps for achieving digital transformation in the next decade;
(2) Assess progress to date on the DAF’s digital adoption through two use case examples;
(3) Identify a small number of high-priority common elements that may aid in the acceleration of digital transformation across both the Air and Space Forces; and
(4) Identify opportunities and challenges towards creating a unified DAF-wide digital enterprise.
The committee will prepare an unclassified report that may include controlled unclassified information.
