National Cooperative Highway Research Program

NCHRP conducts research to improve the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the nation’s highways. The program is funded through annual contributions from state transportation departments. Research topics are recommended by American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) committees, member departments, and the Federal Highway Administration, with project selection and funding determined by the AASHTO Special Committee on Research and Innovation.
