Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board
Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board has influenced policy and decision making on a wide range of nuclear and radiation issues, including: furthering the understanding of beneficial medical, industrial, and research uses of radiation; evaluating radiation occupational health and safety; managing radioactive waste; and securing radioactive sources and other nuclear materials. Additionally, the board has assessed civilian nuclear energy programs, nuclear nonproliferation, and national defense applications across the U.S. nuclear complex. NRSB supports the participation of the United States in the Radiation Effects Research Foundation in Japan and convenes the Gilbert W. Beebe Symposium on topics related to radiation health effects.
