At a time when workforce challenges affect all healthcare professions, there is an opportunity to examine the full spectrum of pharmacists’ contributions to the healthcare system. Student and staffing shortages continue to impact this profession with far-reaching implications for the industry and society. Experts at this 2-day workshop will discuss new models in which pharmacists have expanded roles in health care delivery system, strategies for collaborative care environments that reduce clinician burnout, next generation training, and ways to eliminate pharmacy deserts. Continuing Education Credits:
The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) is pleased to offer continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits for select sessions presented during the Innovations in Pharmacy Training and Practice to Advance Patient Care Workshop. To receive CPE credits, participants must attend the live accredited continuing education sessions (in-person or virtually) on the days of the event and complete the session’s assessment and evaluation utilizing the “Access Code” provided at the conclusion of each accredited session. A passing score of 75% is required to obtain CPE credit. CPE credit information will be electronically transmitted to CPE Monitor upon successful completion of the session’s assessment and evaluation. Pharmacists should log in to their NABP e-profile to access information about their completed CPE and to print a valid statement of credit if needed. Detailed instructions can be found HERE on the AACP CE administration platform. The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

On May 29 & 30, 2025, pharmacists and other health professionals came together to explore priorities that could lay a foundation for pharmacy's enhanced role in improving the health and wellbeing of society. The event resulted in a workshop proceedings on priority setting for the Future of Pharmacy. A dissemination event for the workshop proceedings will be hosted by the National Academies on January 15, 2026.
