An ad hoc steering committee will organize a two-day public workshop to explore the U.S. criminal justice system's relationship to social/legal inclusion and exclusion of racial and ethnic populations. The criminal justice system will be defined to include the juvenile justice system and discussion will address offender, crime victim, and community concerns. This workshop will bring together researchers, policy makers, and practitioners to engage in rigorous discussion about possible future research and data collection activities, as well as potential legal, policy, and programmatic opportunities.
