National Academies Name Kim Parker Pinder as Chief Human Resources Officer

Kim Parker Pinder, Chief Human Resources Officer

This week the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine announced the appointment of Kim Parker Pinder as chief human resources officer. Parker Pinder has been serving as acting chief human resources officer since June 2024.

Parker Pinder has been an integral part of the National Academies since joining the organization in 2001. During her tenure, she has served as manager of employee relations and later as deputy director of human resources.

Before joining the National Academies, Parker Pinder had a broad range of HR and operational responsibilities at BoatUS, Pitney Bowes, Virginia Hospital Center (now VHC Health), and TJX Companies. She received a B.S. in business administration from Barber-Scotia College.

With over two decades of dedicated service to the National Academies, Parker Pinder has acquired a deep understanding of the organization and its HR processes, and is known for her professionalism and invaluable guidance.

“Kim brings a clear vision for the future of the Office of Human Resources,” said Gregory Symmes, chief operating officer of the National Academy of Sciences and executive officer of the Academy’s operating arm, the National Research Council. “Her ability to assess talent, align strengths with organizational needs, and build strong networks will be instrumental in our continued success.
